Residents of the Bulgarian city of Rus opposed the closure of kindergartens under quarantine.
They did not change their position even after the increase in confirmed cases of Coronavirus.
During the pandemic, the Bulgarian authorities advised parents to keep their preschool children at home. However, not all families could afford to give up work or hire a nanny. The situation worsened when a kindergarten teacher tested positive for a Coronavirus. All people who had contact with the sick person were isolated.
Many parents admitted that they were very afraid of the further spread of the disease, but at the same time, were opposed to the closure of kindergartens. Most parents have exhausted the limits of leave days and vacations, and some families no longer have the luxury of staying at home with their children. These parents plan to refuse financial support from the state, blaming the bureaucracy.
