CBSE extends the deadline for all class 10 school results until the June 30th

The Indian Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for the schools that failed to calculate class 10 exam results and submit them to the board on time until June the 30th.

Previously, it was scheduled that all the schoolwork must be completed by June the 11th, and the results would be announced on the 20th. Schools have petitioned the Ministry of Education to extend the deadline for the results of the exams as the lockdown in several Indian states had hampered the work of teachers. Likewise, the class 12 final exams had to be cancelled until early May 2021 because of increased COVID-19 cases.

"The single most important thing for the CBSE is the safety and health of teachers and the staff in the educational system. The coronavirus pandemic in India is still unpredictable, with many states paralysed by the lockdown, so the council has decided to extend the deadline for schools, explained Sanjam Bhardwaj, who is responsible for organising the CBSE exams.

Under the new CBSE grading system, students' knowledge of each subject is assessed on a 20-point scale. Another 80 points are calculated according to the student's performance, which is based upon tests and exam results taken throughout the year.
