23 million students and teachers in India will gain access to Google education services
The company, in partnership with the Indian state of Maharashtra, plans to provide access for 23 million students and teachers to its digital classroom services.
Google recently announced its intention to invest $ 10 billion in Indian education.
The state of Maharashtra is one of the largest in India. The state has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, with 460,000 confirmed viral cases. In compliance with the order of the Central Government in New Delhi, all educational institutions in Maharashtra state were shut down for the period of lockdown.
Google has provided the state's educational institutions with access to its educational services. These include the "G Suite" cloud service, Google Forms, conference platform Google Meet, and the service "Google Classroom" for schools.
In addition, for the teachers of "Teach from anywhere" program, Google has rolled out the program in the state's native language Marathi.
