A former garbage truck driver graduates from Harvard Law School

Film director Tyler Perry paid for his university education after Staton applied to Harvard, attracting the media's attention.

According to an interview with Staton, he and his brother were raised by a single father who had to work three jobs just to make ends meet. The family's terrible financial circumstances forced Stayton to take a job at a waste management company in Bladensburg. Before then, he dreamt of a professional sports career. Unfortunately, after suffering a serious shoulder injury, achieving his dream, and studying at the University of Maryland now seemed entirely impossible for him.

Apart from graduating from Harvard, Staton has raised over $70,000 in donations through his new organisation, “The Reciprocity Effect”, which helps service and education workers. Staton also founded his own law firm in New York, which involves more than 730 students from Harvard Law School. Now his story, in the spirit of some of the best Hollywood films, inspires his former garbage workers and students worldwide!
