Two million British school children do virtually nothing on distance learning
According to a study by University College London, published in June, two million school children in Britain spend no more than two and a half hours a day learning online.
Based on this data, world-renowned experts and governments of different countries have started talking about the fact that primary and secondary schools should be released from quarantine as a priority.
Face-to-face communication with the student allowed the teacher to track when the student was making unsatisfactory progress with the learning materials. However, with distance learning, this is much more difficult to do.
Nevertheless, distance education has several advantages that must be kept after the pandemic ends. For example, on online platforms, students can watch a video tutorial several times if they don't understand something. Additionally, video tutorials are much cheaper than regular lessons.
